I understand that. But than you do know exactly how the valve body works and lubricates the clutch packs right? It seems like you want to install it. Go ahead but you will be money ahead having it done. Rebuilding transmissions isn't cheap when they go out for something stupid. Jody don't take this the wrong way but this is more complicated than the nano system.Throwing parts at a car will not make it faster. Just like the fuel cell you want to buy for the NOS it won't help. You know you will have to manually shift the car from now on after the TB is installed right?

From the link I posted.
This New (Patented) State of the Art Trans Brake Is Designed For Late Model Computer Controlled Overdrive Transmissions. This Trans Brake Can Be Installed With No Interference To The Normal Computer Shifts & functions Of The Transmission. Kit Comes with Everything as Shown ![]() And on the stand alone.. My car is fine on motor and runs 75% duty cycle. It just cant take the extra N20 shot I throw at it on the fuel side. So, adding its on will work. |

Jody, would not hurt at all to call the TB manufacturer and find out if the thing is easy to install by someone who is not a transmission tech. You have tackled a lot of other projects on your car without professional help, why not this one?
Looking at the pics it appears to not be any harder then installing a shift kit. ![]() |

Im in contact via email... Also, there are a few threads floating around on ls1tech i have discovered..
But, here is the thing. I have been beating the piss out of the trans for the last 3 years. So, since I will have it pulled out for the TB install, might as well send it back to FLT to get it freshend up. They have done the TB install before, so why not let them just do the whole dang thing. Ill still have a warranty on it as well. I talked with Vince and he quoted me 2G's for my trans to be freshend up and to add the TB (everything -parts and labor). At this point, I might dish out the little extra $$ and just put a 4l80E in and call it a day if its not too much more at this point. I see myself throwing in a 408ci and adding this down the road at some point. ![]() |

Performance converters for the 4l80E are not cheap. I plan to put one in once my 700R4 grenades. I figured I could spend the $1000 on a converter, another $500 for the controller. Then it would be a recurring $350-$500 for a junk yard trans every time I blow one.

Na Jim.. Its a realatively new design that rossler came up with not too long ago. Suppose to maintain the normal driveability of a 60E/80E, but also have the performance of a trans brake at the track. Only thing else, besides what you see in the pic, that you would need is the handle/shifter for up top.
